About us

Oregon State University Cascades provides students personalized instruction and OSU's excellence in both academics and innovative research, as well as the lifelong advantages of a premier research university. OSU-Cascades is the only baccalaureate and graduate degree granting institution based in Central Oregon. OSU-Cascades expanded to a four-year university when it welcomed its first freshman class in fall 2015. OSU-Cascades was born out of a 30-year grassroots effort put forth by Central Oregonians to bring a university to the region. The university opened its doors in September 2001 on the COCC campus, offering upper-division and graduate coursework toward bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

OSU-Cascades’ new campus is a ½ mile from the Graduate & Research Center, 1.9 miles from downtown Bend, and near trails, recreation, entertainment, athletic and medical facilities, and shopping. Walking, bike share and rideshare programs will minimize vehicle miles traveled and provide options for getting to, from and around the new campus. Learn more about our campus expansion.

They can use their meal plan in any of the 30+ different cafés and restaurants on campus. Need to unwind? The library is open 24 hours during the week and tutors are available to help them with their various assignments in the Center for Academic Support. The OSU campus has everything to make the most of their experience.

The Majestic Theater or Whiteside Theater located downtown Corvallis regularly host concerts and shows.

  • Research: OSU is one of only two universities in the US to have Land, Sea, Space and Sun Grant designations. Thus, OSU is involved with world-changing research in all four areas. With seven cultural centers representing different nationalities, OSU allows students to be themselves, explore other cultures and prepare for their global career. Staff and students work hard to make a positive impact on the world, and by joining this community of researchers students will get an opportunity to change the world.
