Algoma University - Sault Ste. Marie

Sault Ste.Marie , Ontario | Public University | Established 1965

About us

Algoma University, founded in 1965, is proud of its distinctive traditions, and it is this drive that makes Algoma the appropriate destination for students, their future, and their mark.

Students want to go to a school that understands them. A location that will help them achieve their career goals by acting as a partner along the way. A university where professors are willing to share their expertise and convictions in order to guide students in the proper direction, and where alumni have forged their own road to pursue. From its student-centred approach to learning to one-on-one contact with instructors to the countless possibilities to get engaged both on and off-campus, there is something for everyone.

Students at Algoma have the opportunity to leave their imprint on campus and make a positive impact on their community.

This is an exciting time for both the City of Brampton and Algoma University as they collaborate with other stakeholders to enhance post-secondary opportunities for Brampton residents and international students.

Algoma University proposes to extend its academic offerings by establishing a Centre for Social, Cultural, and Economic Innovation in the heart of downtown Brampton to meet the city's rising requirements.

Algoma University offered programmes, degrees, and certifications in Computer Science, Psychology, and Community Economic and Social Development by 2020, in addition to its School of Business and Economics, with other, new programmes to come in 2023. The Centre for Social, Cultural and Economic Innovation at Algoma University will provide students with an education that will allow them to make major contributions to the Brampton community and beyond.
