About us

College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is Newfoundland and Labrador’s (NL) public college – one of the largest post-secondary educational and skills training centres in Atlantic Canada, with a history dating back over 55 years. Today, College of the North Atlantic has 17 campus locations, which include facilities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador; thousands of students studying at various partner universities in China; and, a technical education college for the State of Qatar in the Middle East. In NL, CNA has over 100 full-time program offerings for approximately 9,000 students each year.

CNA continues to have the lowest tuition fees of any post-secondary institution in Atlantic Canada. CNA offers an impressive world-class, nationally accredited range of programming that meets the highest demands of industry; transferability opportunities that promote continuing education at home and abroad; research and development leadership in the community and regional innovation; and, precedent-setting international partnerships. Why College of the North Atlantic

Campus: The Gander campus of College of the North Atlantic is located in central Newfoundland, the “Crossroads of the World”. It is a close-knit community with many large city amenities and is a 3.5 hour drive from both St. John's and Corner Brook. Gander campus has a proud history of serving the training and educational needs of adults in this province. Built in 1963, and expanded and renovated several times, the campus has offered a variety of programs related to the economic and social development needs of citizens.

Facilities: Students benefit from many on-campus resources including a Student Services Office, Student Development Officer, Guidance Counselor, Library & Career Exploration Centre, Cafeteria services, and an active Student Council. Gander is a growing community with many amenities including an international airport, the Arts & Culture Centre, community pool, gyms and other recreational facilities, shopping, and close proximity to the famous Gander River and Terra Nova National Park, as well as many other attractions.

Hands-on experience: Many of College of the North Atlantic's programs offer field opportunities where students can apply what they've learned in the classroom to the community.
