Columbia College

Vancouver, British Columbia | Private University | Established 1936

About us

Established in 1936, Columbia College proudly serves as Canada’s longest established international private college. Columbia College is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Canada's west coast. Students enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Vancouver, one of the most spectacular cities in the world, as well as one of its cleanest and safest.

Columbia College is a liberal arts college providing first and second year university transfer courses, Associate Degrees in Arts and Science, a university preparatory foundations program conforming to British Columbia Ministry of Education guidelines, and excellent intensive English language instruction in the English Language Centre.

Why Columbia College

Columbia College's mission is to prepare international and Canadian students for admission to a university by providing quality academic programs in a supportive environment. Our programs include a University Transfer/Associate Degree Program, a University Foundations Program, and a Full-time Academic English (ESL) Preparatory Program. For over seven decades students have used these programs as a platform for academic success, with thousands of students transferring and completing degrees at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and other top universities.

Columbia’s relatively small size and friendly, family atmosphere means that students from overseas are given the opportunity to adjust to a Canadian lifestyle under minimal pressure, and can then move on to a major university with a much greater chance of success.
