Northern College is a public college with nearly 1,500 full-time students enrolled. Nestled in the hills overlooking picturesque Lake Temiskaming and the Quebec border, the Haileybury campus is home to the Vet Sciences, Haileybury School of Mines, Practical Nursing, Social Service Worker, Personal Support Worker, Instrumentation, School of Business, Office Administration, and Law Clerk programs.

With over 75 full-time, part-time, certificate, diploma, and apprenticeship programs and hundreds of in-class, web-based, and correspondence courses, students are sure to find exactly what they are looking for. Northern College also provides post-secondary and career-entrance preparation programs and academic upgrading to help students get where they want to go.

Location: Students come from across Ontario to study in the modern Veterinary Sciences Centre at the Haileybury Campus. Check out programs like the three-year Veterinary Technology – Wildlife Rehabilitation program; the only one of its kind in Ontario! If one dreams of living on the shores of a picturesque lake surrounded by miles of countryside in the heart of northern Ontario, one may just belong in Haileybury. The community – part of a collection of communities known as Temiskaming Shores, is located on the edge of beautiful Lake Temiskaming which stretches out over 100 kilometres! The city is home to numerous museums, an art gallery, live theatre and multiple venues that feature live music. The downtown and Timiskaming Square offer great shopping. For outdoor enthusiasts, the city features two golf courses, campgrounds, horseback riding and both downhill and cross-country ski facilities. The South Temiskaming Active Travel Association and the government also maintain a series of walking trails that connect the communities that form the city.
