Why Ontario Tech University - Northern Oshawa

Campus: Ontario Tech University - Northern Oshawa is located 10 minutes north of downtown Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, less than an hour outside of downtown Toronto. OTU - Northern Oshawa is OTU's main campus. OTU cultivates a dynamic learning environment for students by promoting social engagement, fostering critical thinking and integrating experiences inside and outside the classroom.

Facilities: OTU's campus sets it apart as a modern and innovative university. Designers incorporated a number of environmentally advanced features into the buildings including green roofs, coated windows and a geothermal heating and cooling system. Within them students attend classes in high-tech learning facilities. Other facilities on campus include a library, a Student Life Centre, and research centres.

Research: OTU has a mission to conduct research that creates knowledge, solves problems, results in economic and social innovation and engages students. Professors and students undertake research in a wide range of areas that include automotive design and engineering, business and information technology, computational science, alternative and sustainable energy, nuclear engineering, law enforcement, manufacturing, community/public health, to name just a few.
