Located in one of Canada’s most beautiful National Historic Sites, Royal Roads University has a long history of excellence. In 2015, we celebrated 75 years of leadership and learning - 55 years as a military college and 20 years as a public applied research university.
There is a strong emphasis on a practical, applied programs delivered by award-winning faculty with real-world experience. At Royal Roads University, we understand the value of the lessons learned outside of the traditional classroom, so we use a student-centred approach to our admission process. We look at you and where you are in life, and not necessarily just what can be found on a transcript.
If you are lacking the formal academic education required for Standard Admission, we have the ability to evaluate you based on a combination of your formal education, informal learning, and the real-world life experiences you’ve earned.
Applicants who do not have the formal academic education to qualify for Standard Admission may be assessed under Flexible Admission on the basis of both their formal education and their informal learning, in accordance with the Flexible Assessment Policy and Practices at Royal Roads University. This includes applicants with a complex learning history and for whom documenting their learning is either difficult or complex.
