About us

Welcome to the home of the Northwest Wine Studies Center.

The Northwest Wine Studies Center is located in the picturesque Eola-Amity Hills just west of downtown Salem. This educational center is the home of the Wine Studies program at Chemeketa and houses the student operated winery, classrooms, and Chemeketa Cellars tasting room. The Northwest Wine Studies Center continues to maintain an intimate and long-standing relationship with the Oregon wine industry. In fact, this unique facility was originally constructed through the support of many of Oregon's wine industry pioneers. Their support continues on today in the classroom, advisory boards and even as instructors of the Wine Studies program.

The Northwest Wine Studies Center is more than just a building as it operates as a leading wine industry resource nimbly responding to the educational demands of the ever-growing Oregon wine industry. Workshops, seminars and classes for those in the industry and the public alike - benefit from the programming offered at the Northwest Wine Studies Center.

Chemeketa Eola also provides the landscape for the 8-acre test vineyard managed by the students of the Wine Studies program. This coupled with the on-site laboratory, winery and tasting room - make the Wine Studies program at Chemeketa an incredibly powerful hands-on training ground for anyone looking to work in the wine industry.

We encourage you to visit this beautiful educational center located in the heart of the Willamette Valley.
